TODAY
, curry is Britain’s favourite and for a reason. Hot, spicy and exotic, they are perfect for an evening of leisure or a fun night-out.

BUT curries aren’t just hot and spicy. They can be lovely for family evenings, at home dining with friends, and cosy nights in. These curries are about healthy cooking with a hint of spice, the kind of food Indian families have at home. Quick and easy to cook, nourishing and wholesome, they tease your taste-buds like nothing else does.

AT Curry-Culum, we specialise in marrying the everyday with the exotic. We have carefully handpicked recipes from different parts of India, some of them fresh and new and others centuries old, to give you the gastronomic experience of a lifetime. What’s more, after one of our hands-on Curry-Culum courses, you can recreate the magic of Indian cuisine in the leisure of your own kitchen. Surprise your family and friends with your grasp of the techniques of tikka, the marvels of Madras.

ALL courses are hands-on, designed not only to share the secrets of the East, but also to build your own confidence in the kitchen. Our products and spices are all sourced locally and are of the very best quality.

ALL courses are conducted in our household kitchen in Glasson Dock, near Lancaster. However, if you are a group of four to six, then we might also arrange to host the course in your own kitchen. Please contact us for further details on alternative venues.

OUR COURSES

WE are currently running several full and half-day weekend courses.

FOR a full-day course, your day starts at 10am with a welcome brew and bite in a homely, informal atmosphere in our living room in Glasson Dock. From there we move on to the kitchen for a short ‘Introduction to the Spices’.

AFTER that, it is all hands-on with the karhai and balti. Curry-Culum courses are not about demonstration. They are about you having a fantastic day - mixing, measuring and roasting your spices, having a go at your own authentic curry and building your confidence in the kitchen.

AFTER three spicy hours, we break off at 1pm for lunch. There will be a three-course meal served with a chilled glass of wine. The afternoon session resumes at 2pm and we finally finish at 4pm.

Course fee: A Full-day course including a three-course meal and a glass of wine is £100. The fee also includes all provisions and spices used on the day.
A Half-day course including refreshments, a buffet and a glass of wine is £65. The fee also includes all provisions and spices used on the day.
